Stollen will ensure that ‘vision’ for borough is fulfilled
Ilike what I read in the April 22 Sentinel: “Spotswood Officials Move Ahead With Vision Plan.”Borough Council President Curt Stollen spelled out the future of Spotswood beautifully — “Help us guide the development of the town in the direction we would like to go.”
This is not just a plan that would be considered a short-term fix in hard economic times; no, this is a long-range plan taking into consideration all the woes that currently beset Spotswood and how the town can steer into a vibrant, business-friendly, familyoriented, recreational, terrific residential neighborhood.
The borough has posted its Community Vision Plan on its website. It’s worth going on the website to look at the many items taken into consideration. Stollen talked about developing businesses on Main Street, working on traffic problems, providing better parking arrangements. There would be major improvements to the infrastructure, sidewalks, parks; and the addressing of problems from the overflowing flood, damages recently sustained from the March storms. It would be wonderful if DeVoe Lake could be dredged and improved. It really is a beautiful lake.
The improvements and the developments to the borough would really benefit all the age groups, from the youngest to the seniors. This is why it’s important to Spotswood voters to come out Tuesday, May 11, to make sure that Curtis Stollen, the council president, along with other public servants who plan for Spotswood, who dedicate themselves to Spotswood, who work for our future and our family’s future, win re-election as members of the Borough Council.
If Spotswood is going to achieve the goals of its development plan, then those who envisioned the plan need to be elected to carry it through.
